Philadelphia 76ers vs Cleveland Cavaliers Best Bet
Fri, Mar 5. 00:00 (UK)
The Philadelphia 76ers are riding a 4-game winning streak and are now 2nd in the eastern conference. The James Harden trade looks like a success, and the 76ers have ranked 7th in the NBA in offensive rating in the last 5 games, whilst averaging 118.2 points per game. Their defence has also been exceptional this season, keeping opponents to just 33.7% from beyond the arc, and averaging 5.5 blocks per game (6th in the league). I’m counting on their offence to continue rolling tonight against a Cleveland team that has been struggling to defend recently.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have cooled off since their explosive start to the season, and are now 6th in the eastern conference. They have now lost 2 games in a row, and their defence has been the biggest culprit, allowing an average of 123.0 points per game during that time. They are coming off a 98-119 loss to the Charlotte Hornets, and I’m expecting a similar performance this time around. The Cavaliers have been the 3rd-slowest team in the NBA in the last 5 games, and I don’t expect them to keep up with the high-scoring 76ers.
- Selection: 76ers -7.5
- Best Odds: 1.94 (Marathonbet)
- Stakes: 6/10

Washington Wizards vs Atlanta Hawks Best Bet
Fri, Mar 4. 0000 (UK)
The Washington Wizards have finally bounced back with a nice 116-113 victory over the Detroit Pistons with 29 assists and 50.0% from beyond the arc. They have had a difficult season so far, but they usually fare well against poor defensive teams. They faced the Atlanta Hawks twice already this season and scored 122 and 11 points respectively in those games. However, the Wizards’ defence has been quite poor this season, ranking 24th in defensive rating and allowing 110.4 points per game. The Wizards are by no means an elite offensive team, but they are capable of going off for high scoring outing against teams like the Atlanta Hawks.
MEanwhile. the Atlanta Hawks have exploded in recent games, ranking 2nd in offensive rating in the last 5 games and averaging 118.6 points per game. They are now 10th in the eastern conference and hoping to clinch playoff berth with their recent spike in form. The Hawks have been making 39.2% of their 3-pointers whilst committing just 9.8 turnovers per game (1st in NBA). But their defence has been one of the worst in the league this season, allowing 111.7 points per game and allowing opponents to shoot 36.2% on 3-pointers and 53.9% on 2-pointers, putting them in the bottom 5 teams in that regard. I don’t expect much defence to be played in this one, and the 224.0 total point line is looking rather low.
- Selection: Over 224.0 points
- Best Odds: 1.94 (Unibet)
- Stakes: 7/10

Toronto Raptors vs Orlando Magic Best Bet
The Toronto Raptors have managed to slightly improve their form recently, and have won 5 of their last 10 games. But they are still 7th in the east with 34 wins and 28 losses and coming off a 108-106 loss to the Detroit Pistons. They are 19th in offensive rating in the last 10 games, 14th in defensive rating, and are 27th in pace rating on the season. The Raptors play slow, and they rarely go off for high scoring games, averaging 108.6 points per game with just 22.1 assists per game (27th in NBA). Their defence has also been mediocre this year, allowing 107.4 points per game on very high opponent shooting percentages. They have dominated this match-up in recent years, but their only encounter of the season with Orlando was a razor-thin 110-109 win in Toronto.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic are pinned to the bottom of the eastern conference with just 15 wins and 48 losses this season. But they have been a surprisingly good defensive team recently, ranking 12th in defensive rating and averaging 4.7 blocks per game. They’ve also picked up the pace recently, and are ranking 2nd in pace in the last 10 games, which can be a very good weapon against the slow-moving Raptors. Their young core of Wendell Carter Jr, Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony and Franz Wagner is showing a lot of potential, and I trust them to at least keep the game close tonight.
- Selection: Magic +8.0
- Best Odds: 1.94 (Marathonbet)
- Stakes: 7/10
