Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Real Madrid Bet Builder: Tuesday, April 26th
Maccabi Tel Aviv welcome Real Madrid to Menora Mivtachim Arena tonight at 19:15 (UK time) for Game 3 of their Euroleague playoff series. Real Madrid took both games on home soil with impressive performances on both sides of the floor, but the series is moving to Tel Aviv tonight and I’m backing a completely different outcome this time around. Take a look at my Analysis and Bet Builder Tips in the article below.

Real Madrid came into the playoffs as the 4th best team in the Euroleague and riding a 4-game losing streak. They were solid on both sides of the floor throughout the season but faced a lot of issues in the later stage. They finished off the regular season with a 88-97 loss to Bayern Munich at home, and the situation looked dire for Pablo Laso’s squad. They are in a much better spot now, going up 2 games at home, but they will have to travel to Menora Mivtachim Arena, where they lost to Maccabi by 75-74 in late March.
For Maccabi, a mid-season slump of 8 losses almost put their season to an end, but they managed to bounce back in January, winning 11 of their 13 games to end the season. They played their best basketball during that time and finished with a 6 game winning streak- taking down Real Madrid, Milano and Barcelona in the process. They have certainly showcased their abilities on both sides of the floor this season, and I squeezed a lot of value out of this team this year.

Real Madrid are just one game away from closing out the series and advancing into the Final 4 of the Euroleague. They won both games at home against Maccabi with an aggregate result of 179-140. Terrific! In their most recent meeting, Real dominated the glass, outrebounding Maccabi by 41-30, and secured a comfortable 29 point victory at WiZink Center. Sergio Llull was their top scorer with 17 points, followed by Poirier and Yabusele with 16 apiece.
For the Tel Aviv side, no player scored in double digits and their offence was held to just 66 points, 11 assists with a whopping 16 turnovers. It was a tough road trip for Maccabi, that is certain, with Scottie Wilbekin only netting 8 points and just one assist in Game 2, and James Nunnally only going for 5 points. Their defence was no better, allowing Real to shoot 40% from beyond the arc and only getting 1 block, compared to Real’s 5.

Maccabi Tel Aviv have already beaten Real Madrid at home this year, and despite their slow start in the playoffs, I expect them to finally get back to their regular-season form in this game. Home advantage means a lot in the Euroleague, and they will be desperate to keep Real from closing out the series in Tel Aviv, in front of their own fans.
Scottie Wilbekin had an excellent season for Maccabi, averaging 15.2 points and 4.1 assists per game. Despite netting just 8 points in Game 2, don’t forget he was able to go for 20 in Game 1, and Avi Even will certainly rely on him a lot to get their offence going. I expect another 20-point home performance out of him in friendly territory.
Jalen Renolds averaged 4.7 boards during the regular season for Maccabi. He only grabbed 3 in Game 1 but improved for 5 in game 2. I expect rebounding to be a big focus point for Avi Even’s squad, and seeing as how Reynolds was their top rebounder last game, I expect him to get even more minutes tonight and crash the boards.
