Unics Kazan vs CSKA Moscow Best Bet
Unics Kazan have been the most pleasant surprise of the season, recovering from their 1-4 start to the season. They are now 6th in the Euroleague standings with 7 wins in their last 10 games. They are coming off a difficult 85-68 loss to Real Madrid, due to an unusually bad shooting night and a low defensive effort. But this trend hasn’t followed them to Basket-Kholl this season, with 8 wins in their last 9 home games. In fact, Unics have established a reputation as an elite defensive side, grabbing a league-high 9.6 steals per game, and keeping opponents to just 31.7% from beyond the arc. They can also go off for explosive scoring performances, especially against meagre defensive sides like CSKA Moscow.
Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow are 7th in the Euroleague standings, and their 2021/22 season has been very tentative. Despite averaging almost 80.0 points per game on solid shooting numbers, their defence has prevented them from fighting for one of the top spots. In fact, they have allowed an average of 78.3 points per game this season in the Euroleague. Unics defeated CSKA by 67-88 in their first encounter earlier this season, and the Moscow side is coming off a lacklustre 57-67 loss to Olimpia Milano. I trust Unics to regain their defensive intensity at home and get the job done once again in a very important game.
Tip: Unics Kazan to Win at 2.22 odds

Panathinaikos vs Baskonia Best Bet
Panathinaikos are the second-worst team in the Euroleague at the moment, sitting 17th in the standings and going winless since mid-December. But their form has improved recently and they have provided a lot of betting value in the handicap market. They are coming off a close 82-81 loss to Anadolu Efes where they easily covered the 13.5-point spread, and I expect them to come out swinging against a struggling Baskonia side. Some of their best performances this season have come at “Nikos Galis” Hall and I expect them to earn their 5th win of the season.
After surprisingly beating Bayern Munich and Barcelona in December, Baskonia have come down to earth, suffering defeats at the hands of Real Madrid and the Bavarians. Their record on the road has been terrible this season, and their hot streak has unfortunately come to an end. They have averaged just 72.5 points scored and 79.2 points allowed per game this season, whilst grabbing just 5.1 steals. They beat Panathinaikos earlier this season by 82:81 at home, but I don’t expect them to perform as well on the road.
Tip: Panathinaikos -1.0 at 1.95 odds

Bayern Munich vs Alba Berlin Best Bet
Bayern Munich are 10th in the Euroleague standings at the moment, and it seems they have finally recovered their form after a very difficult December. With 3 wins in their last 4 games, they are back into the mix, and rookie point guard Andreas Obst has been a revelation for Trinchieri’s lineup. Despite mid-season struggles, their performances at Audi Dome have been solid all season, and with their shooting numbers finally bouncing back in the last month, they are an excellent value pick. I expect another solid defensive performance at home, and if they continue to share the ball as well as they have recently, this should be a comfortable win for them.
Meanwhile, Alba Berlin have lost 7 of their last 10 games, and are currently on a 3-game losing streak. They are struggling on both sides of the floor, averaging 75.7 points scored and 81.9 allowed per game. They have allowed an opponent 3-point percentage of 36.8% and a 2-point percentage of 57.7%. These aren’t the type of numbers that allow a team to find success in the Euroleague, and this isn’t something that can be improved on the fly. Their performances on the road this season have been abysmal, winning just 2 of their total 10 games. They lost their first encounter against Bayern this season by 82-69, and I expect more of the same in this one.
Tip: Bayern Munich -6.5 at 1.92 odds
