Bayern Munich vs Anadolu Efes

After an abysmal start to the season, losing 4 games in a row, Bayern Munich have managed to turn their situation around, winning 6 of their last 9 games. They have finally found their rhythm on both sides of the floor, and are just 1 win away from the top 8.  Although they still struggle in road games, the Bavarians have shown exceptional form in home games, winning all but 1 of their last 4, which was a close one against Real Madrid.

The defending champions have had an identical start to the season to Bayern, and have also played very well recently, winning 4 of their last 5 Euroleague games. But they are coming off a tough overtime loss to Barcelona, and their performance in road games has left a lot to be desired this season. They also rely too much on Micic and Larkin to generate their offence, which is why the team sometimes struggles to get going. Anadolu Efes have also struggled to defend this season, allowing an average of 79.5 points per game, and an opponent 3-point percentage of almost 38%. They are favourites in this one at 1.47 odds, but the value is with the hosts in this one.

Tip: Bayern Munich +4.5 at 2.08 odds

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Unics Kazan

Maccabi Tel Aviv had an impressive start to the season, winning 7 of their first 10 games but their form has dropped significantly in recent games, and they are looking to bounce back. They are currently on a 3-game losing streak and coming off a close 72-70 home loss to Real Madrid.  Although they’ve been able to score a solid 78.4 points per game this season, their defence has been dreadful, especially in their last 3 games where they have allowed 84.3 points per game. Despite their poor form, they are favourites in this one at 1.47 odds, 90% of punters are backing them tonight.

After an abysmal start to the season with 4 losses after round 5, Unics Kazan have climbed back to 7th place in the Euroleague standings winning 6 of their last 8 games. Their last game was a very close encounter against Olympiacos where Unics suffered a close overtime loss. But their overall form has been excellent recently, and they are looking to get back on track against a struggling Macabbi side. Their biggest weapon tonight will be their elite defence that excels in forcing turnovers and keeping Macabbi to low shooting percentages. The majority of bettors are backing Macabbi in this one, and Unics provide excellent value in the handicap market.

Tip: Unics Kazan +4.5 at 2.02 odds

Baskonia vs Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne

Baskonia are having a terrible 2021/22 Euroleague season with just 4 wins and 9 losses. They are currently 16th in the league standings having lost 7 of their last 8 games. Their most recent Euroleague game saw them suffer a 72-68 loss to the worst team in the league – Zalgiris Kaunas. They have averaged just 69.8 points scored with 15.4 assists and an alarming 79.5 allowed this season. They have struggled to find their game on both sides of the floor, but it’s their terrible defence that has and prevented them from winning more than 4 games this season.

Asvel Lyon have had a solid start to the season, winning 6 of their first 8 games, but their recent form has left a great deal to be desired.  Although they’ve lost 4 of their last 5 Euroleague games, they have faced Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich during this run and their overall performances have been respectable. Asvel have averaged 75.5 points per game and 76.8 allowed whilst keeping opponents to 31.5% for 3. They’re a young team with lots of potential and more than enough value in this one. They have already earned high-profile wins against Efes, CSKA and Unics this year, and they have the ability to compete against any team in the league. Baskonia is a team that plays terrible defence, and I expect Asvel’s young guns to take full advantage of it.

Tip: Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne +5.5 at 1.98 odds

Barcelona vs Real Madrid

The final best bet for tonight is the ‘El Clasico’ with Barcelona taking on Real Madrid at Palau Blaugrana. Barcelona are having an excellent season so far with 11 wins and just 2 losses after Round 13, and they are 1st in the Euroleague standings. They are averaging 83.3 points per game with an amazing 41.0% from beyond the arc and 18.9 assists. Their defence has also been respectable, allowing 73.3 points per game and keeping opponents to 32.4% for 3 and 49.2% for 2 points. But with Nick Calathes and Cory Higgins injured for this one, and they have resorted to signing Dante Exum to a 3-month contract in hopes of filling their need for guards.

But Real Madrid are having just as good a season with the same exact record as Barcelona, and they are currently 2nd in the league standings.  Real are on a 6-game winning streak and coming off a 72-70 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. They have averaged 79.9 points per game with a field-goal percentage of 47.1% and 18.7 assists per game. Their defence has also been one of the best in the league, allowing just 71.2 points and blocking 3.5 shots per game. Both teams are elite on both sides of the floor, and I expect this one to be very close. But Barcelona will be relying on a fresh signing to do a lot of work in this one, and I don’t expect their chemistry to be tuned after just 2 days. Barca are the home favourites at 1.66 odds, and with 77% of bettors backing them in this one, it’s best to stay away.

Tip: Real Madrid +2.5 at 1.98 odds
