Let’s just cut to the chase because I like this total to fly over the number tonight at the Great American Ballpark. 

Wade Miley is making his first start of the campaign, and he had no spring training innings pitched in the pre-season either. Miley is familiar with this park having spent two years with the Reds in 2020 and 2021. The southpaw made 23 starts with the Brewers last season, and he recorded a 9 – 4 campaign with a decent 3.14 ERA.

Hunter Greene has made two starts and the Reds are 0 – 2, although he has two no-decisions to his credit. Greene gave up one earned run to the Mets in his last start, after only allowing two earned runs against Washington in his season debut.

The weather is what has my attention in Cincinnati tonight. The 70 degrees on top of a wet, humid day at the Great American Ballpark is a recipe for runs. I don’t care who is pitching or how well Greene looked against two weak lineups this year, runs are being scored tonight.

I expect a 4 – 3 game before we get through the 6th inning, and it won’t take much from there to get us to the nine we’ll need to get paid. I don’t surmise they will get stuck at 4 – 4 and leave us with a pushed bet either, so ride the total and expect runs to be scored!
