Philadelphia Phillies vs Colorado Rockies Prediction, Picks, Odds, News, Injury Report for 4/17/24
The Phillies and Rockies will be wrapping up their 3-game set on Wednesday night, and the home team is in a position to sweep the visiting club. The Rockies bats have gone quiet since arriving in the City of Brotherly Love, as their road issues continue to be an issue. Ej’s Phillies vs Rockies prediction is available below.
The Rockies and the road haven’t gotten along well for many seasons, as they finished 2023 with the worst away record in the league… again! This is familiar territory for this franchise over the years, as history has seemed to repeat itself when Colorado travels out of Denver.
Can the Rockies steal a game in Philly to avoid being swept, or does the road continue to befuddle Colorado? Let’s see what direction Ej takes for his Hump Day selection. For more free baseball tips, visit the bettingexpert community, and for more expert tips, visit our Expert Insights section.
PHILLIES VS ROCKIES Prediction and Expert Picks: Sanchez and Feltner For the Under
Odds as of April 17th, 2024. Odds may now differ.
I could go on and on about the dismal numbers for the Rockies when they travel, so if you need more you can easily look up their record away from home since 2019.
The Phillies are heavy favorites to sweep the Rockies at home on Wednesday night, which I doubt will surprise anyone.
Southpaw Chris Sanchez will be making his fourth start of the 2024 campaign, and the Phillies have yet to win one of his outings. Sanchez hasn’t pitched poorly with 15 ⅓ innings to his credit through three starts with an ERA of 3.52.
The Rockies will respond with Ryan Feltner, and his numbers mirror that of Sanchez this season. Feltner has also pitched 15 ⅓ innings this year with an ERA of 3.38, although he picked up a win in his last effort against Toronto.
With the bats cool and these two starting pitchers set to take the mound, I expect another low-scoring affair to finish this series. My Phillies vs Rockies prediction is Under 8.5.

Philadelphia Phillies News, Injury Report, Schedule: Injuries Piling Up for Philly
The Phillies will have Thursday off, although they will remain home to host the visiting White Sox over the weekend. After the Phils get done pounding the White Sox for three days, they will have an interesting road trip ahead.
Philadelphia will head to Cincinnati for a 4-game series next Monday, and then they will go West to play the Padres and Angels.
The Phillies have four pitchers and one position player on the injury report.
Dylan Covey is the only player on the list returning anytime soon, as he should be back in the bullpen by May. There is still no timetable for RP Luis Ortiz, RP Michael Rucker, SP Tijuan Walker, or C Rafael Marchan to return to the field.
Colorado Rockies News, Injury Report, Schedule: Rockies Looking at Home Stand
The Rockies will have Thursday off to travel back home to face the Seattle Mariners for three games in Denver. After the Mariners leave town, San Diego will come in for four games, and then the Rockies leave the country.
Colorado and Houston will continue the MLB World Tour with two games in the Mexico City Series on April 27 and 28.
Kris Bryant missed the last three games with a back injury, and he is questionable to play on Wednesday. Second baseman Brendan Rogers sat out of Tuesday’s game and is a question mark to play in this game.
Phillies vs Rockies H2H: The Sweep is Near
The Phillies are on the verge of sweeping Colorado in this three-game set. Philadelphia holds a 126 – 97 edge in the all-time series dating to 1993.
The Phillies took the season series against the Rockies 5 – 2 last season, and they did the same the previous campaign in 2022.
