The Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles will play a brief, two-game series that begins on Tuesday night at National Park in our Nation’s Capital.

The Orioles arrive in town as the clear favorites to win this game, but our resident baseball expert Ej Garr isn’t buying it. Our National vs Orioles prediction at +188 is available below!

The Nationals are out to prove they have more fight than the line setters want you to believe, so Ej is thinking underdog with his last baseball article here at bettingexpert. Let’s hit the field and bang out one more underdog to close the season!

NATIONALS VS ORIOLES PREDICTION and Expert Pick: THE LAST DOG BARKS

  • Selection: Washington Nationals Moneyline
  • Best Odds: +188 (2.88)
  • Bookmaker: BetFair
  • Stakes: 4/10

Odds available as of May 7th 2024. Odds may now differ.

Today is my last baseball article at BettingExpert, and I want to go out with a bang.

When I first noticed the lines for this game in our Nation’s Capital, the first thing that came to me was that I found my underdog with the Nats at home.

The Nationals are 7 – 3 over the last 10 games and are already enjoying this homestand. Toronto spent the previous three days in DC, and they left with two losses as the Nats pounded out 23 runs in the weekend series with the Jays.

Corbin Burnes gets the nod for the Orioles as the starting pitcher for this game, and although he has pitched well lately he gets no run support. All too often, Burnes is giving the Orioles a quality start but the Orioles offense never seem to come to his aid.

In his last start against the Yankees, no Orioles player crossed home plate against Luis GIl in a loss, 2 – 0. Burnes gave the Orioles a quality start against Oakland, and the Orioles still managed to lose that game as well, 3 – 2.

With the Nationals bats starting to make solid contact en route to a 7 – 3 record over the last 10 games, I am going underdog because of the value with the Nationals on Tuesday night. BetFair is featuring the best line I can find at +188 towards a Nationals win, and to that I say… SOLD!

Trevor Williams is listed as the probable starter for the Nationals at home, and let’s talk about how dominant he has been in 2024.

Williams has made six starts this season, and no team has scored more than three times against him. None of his opponents have gathered more than six hits against him and he is impressive for being on a team that is 17 – 17.

This game will end 3 – 2, and if you like your safety nets you can grab the +1.5 on the Nationals at home and still get plus-money. I expect the Nationals to be on top when the final out is recorded, but I won’t yell at anyone if you settle for the Runline.

I am sorry to see baseball go here at BettingExpert but look for my tennis articles that will start going up today.

Washington Nationals News, Injury Report, Schedule

The Nationals will close out this series on Wednesday and head to Philadelphia after a day off on Thursday. Washington will be on the road from the 10th to the 19th making stops in Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

Joey Gallo is on the shelf with an AC Join injury to his shoulder leaving him out of the lineup for a couple of more weeks. Gallo hasn’t played since April 28 and only has 9 hits this year since coming over from the Reds. WASTE OF MONEY, the dude needs to retire immediately!

Baltimore Orioles News, Injury Report, Schedule

Baltimore will wrap up this short series on Wednesday and return home for the next three series. The Orioles will play three games against Arizona and then the Blue Jays will head to Baltimore for a 3-game set. The 9-game home stand will conclude with a set against the Mariners and move on to the Midwest.

Baltimore has three starters and a reliever on the injury report, as Austin Hays is the only position player out of action. Hays hasn’t played since April 20, and a calf strain isn’t healing as fast as hoped.

Nationals vs Orioles H2H: Orioles Hold the Edge

  • The Orioles hold a 61 to 48 edge in the all-time series with Washington dating back to the 1997 campaign.
  • Baltimore swept the season series with Washington last year, 0 – 4, and has also earned 5 series wins since 2019
