Washington Nationals vs LA Dodgers Prediction, Expert Picks, Odds, News, for 4/23/24
The Nation’s Capital will be in store for a fun day of MLB baseball as the Dodgers and Nationals square off on Tuesday night. The Nats and Dodgers just met last week in Los Angeles, and now they meet again for a 3-game series to start the week. Our Nationals vs Dodgers prediction at 1.89 is available below!
The Dodgers will be on the road until May 1, as they begin a 9-game, 3-city road trip that will accumulate plenty of frequent flyer miles. Los Angeles avoided the sweep over the weekend by the Mets after losing two of three games to the Nationals in the previous series at home.
Patrick Corbin and James Paxton are listed as the probable starters for this game, and that has Ej attacking this total. Check out Ej’s best bet below.

NATIONALS VS Dodgers PREDICTION: EXPECT PLENTY OF SCORING
Odds as of April 23rd, 2024. Odds may now differ.
The Dodgers played host to the Nationals last week, and surprisingly, the road team found two wins as huge underdogs. Once again, the Dodgers are the favorites to win game 1 of this series in our Nation’s capital.
I have one number for you… 8! When your ERA is over 8, it is time to start bagging groceries at Walmart for a living. Corbin is making an absurd $23M this season, and it’s why the Nationals have zero clue what they are doing with their money.
While I can go on and on about the ineptitude of Corbin, let’s talk about the Dodgers starter, James Paxton. Paxton was last seen pitching against San Diego on April 14, as he will be on 9 days of rest between starts. After all of his starts this year, the Dodgers have given Paxton a week off, at least, and they should give him a month off! With 14 walks and only 10 strikeouts, Paxton issued a free pass to 8 Padres batters in his most recent outing. The Padres didn’t even make him pay for it, as they only scored 3 runs against him because they couldn’t hit a baseball when it mattered most.
The Nationals offense will get to Paxton, and even if they don’t, the Dodgers bullpen is another complete joke full of relievers who are not helping the cause.
This Over 9.5 will be in the books before we hit the 7th inning, so don’t waste a minute putting in the bet on the total to fly in.

LA Dodgers News, Injury Report, Schedule: Pitching Staff In Dire Straits
The Dodgers just left home after a 9-game stand, and all they did was win three of those affairs with six losses. The Padres, Nationals, and Mets all won two of the three games played against the Dodgers.
The line setters still seem to think that the Dodgers can never lose again, as they keep slapping them with chalk despite playing so poorly.
After this 3-game series in Washington, the Dodgers will fly to Toronto to play the Jays for three days and then head to Arizona for another 3-game set. That’s a lot of miles to travel in a short span, so let’s see how it affects them.
If you are wondering why the Dodgers’ pitching staff is getting shelled this year, look no further than the injury report. Los Angeles has 7 starters and 3 relievers on the shelf, and outfielder Jason Heyward is lost to a back issue until May.
Washington vs Los Angeles H2H: Dodgers Own the Nats
The Nationals are up 2 – 1 on the Dodgers in 2024 after winning two of three games in LA last week. Since 2006, the Dodgers have lost only 1 season series to the Nationals spanning 17 years of dominance.
