MLB Run Total Best Bet: Wednesday June 22nd
Our resident MLB expert Ej Garr provided another easy winner on Tuesday night and that puts his record at 7 – 1 – 1 over the last 9 offers. With more plans to punch the bookmakers in the mouth, the White Sox are letting Lucas Giolito take the mound on Hump Day and that puts us in a lovely position to cash another ticket on a Blue Jays early team total.

So we meet again. Remember the last time Lucas Giolito took the mound against the Astros? Oh baby, let me remind you because you can feel free to go find my article on that outing. Another pair of home runs were given up by our favourite fade on the White Sox roster and yet they keep letting him take the mound. I don’t know how much more the Chicago brass has to see but the only thing we need to do is smile tonight!
Last night we picked on Matt Swarmer and oh, oops, did he give up another home run last night as I expected? Ya think, come on man, this is child’s play and Chuckie just rode in on a carousel! This is another situation where you can go stat-tracking and use your best system to come up with the fact that Lucas Giolito is a gas can and I just lit another match.
Giolito has made 11 starts over this campaign and the 13 HR allowed tells you all you need to know and then he gets to face the Jays bats? Hi, my name is Ej and in #27 I trust! If Vladi even sees a pitch in the strike zone at all it will be one of 3 bombs Giolito will be seen giving up on Wednesday afternoon.
On the other side of the ledger, the Jays are throwing Ross Stripling out to the bump on Wednesday night and the Jays are only favourites at 1.88? Is that a joke? I am sorry but you people need to jump on Toronto Moneyline to win this game if you can a reasonable offer on the tip. You know how I roll and I like my juice heavily reduced and I think we can go as far as 1.83 if you are considering a play on the Jays.
Regardless, the reason the Jays are going to win this game is Mr Lucas Giolito anywhere near a pitcher’s mound while we still have the chance to fade him. I don’t know how many more starts this dude can get without tanking another outing and I expect this to be just another example to help us cash a ticket. So, the Over 2.5 runs with the Jays before we hit the 6th inning is your first play to make, and if you can get that line to where you like it you can hit the Jays ML too.
The only reason I am not suggesting the Jays team total to go over is that the line was being shown at O/U 4.5 but 1.79 is just too stiff for me. Then I saw this 1st-5 number and I almost lost my mind. The Jays will have all 3 of these runs in the books earlier than the 5th inning so enjoy another walk to the window!
