The Toronto Blue Jays play host to the Orioles on Wednesday night and our resident MLB expert Ej Garr is scorching hot this week. With plans to continue working the bookmakers to the bone, yet another 1st 5 inning total makes the board for the best bet of the day on the diamond.

Toronto vs Baltimore Best Bet

June 16, 00:07 UK time

The Blue Jays have split the first two games of the series with Baltimore coming into Wednesday night’s affair, but it’s not for a lack of hitting the ball. Toronto broke out 11 runs on Monday and despite losing last night, 6 – 5, the Orioles were still unable to slow down the Jays too much.

I think we all know that the Blue Jays’ offence can pose trouble for any starting pitcher and this game might be one that Bruce Zimmerman will want to forget. Can we even start breaking down how bad Zimmerman has been this campaign?

The calendar just turned to June which means we are about 2 months into the season. Over 12 starts, Zimmerman has been jacked up for 15 homers and the Red Sox just hit 5 of those in one game alone! In his last start against Kansas City, Zimmerman was lit up two more times making it 14 HRs allowed over his last 6 outings. Bo Bichette’s 10 HR makes it 3 players on the Jays roster with double-digit bombs already.

The Blue Jays rank 8th in all of baseball averaging 1.21 home runs a game and Toronto has the second-best OPS in the league putting up a .754 number in the category. As a team, the Jays average .257 hitting the ball and that is good for 3rd in MLB.

I am almost glad that Baltimore found a way to take the second game of the series on Tuesday because now the Jays can’t afford to sit back and play loose. Had they been going for a sweep instead of just trying to make sure they take 2 of 2 wins from the Orioles, it could make the approach different.

I literally sat here and waited for the final out to happen on Tuesday to make sure Baltimore hung on to win knowing this bet would make my bet of the day. Happily, we can now expect Toronto to come out swinging to try and take an early lead to keep Baltimore chasing them.

Trey Mancini is expected to miss this game and he is just one of many Orioles out of the lineup right now. Anthony Santander and Keegan Akin are both unable to travel with the team due to not having their vaccinations in order. You’re not even getting on the plane to Canada without your vaccination papers so any players that are not up to date won’t be making the trip up North.

Keep that in mind for any other trips that other teams will be making up here because they will not be doing anything but staying home and watching the games like you and me.

Anyway, I see 4 Jays runs before the 6th inning easily making our bet one to have confidence in, so good luck out there tonight and enjoy cashing another ticket to go with the 3 – 0 – 1 from my 4 offers this week thus far.
