MLB Run Total Best Bet: Wednesday July 13th
The Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics will be taking the Globe Life Field on Hump Day and our resident baseball expert has his eyes on the total. The line setters are asking Ej if he thinks we are going to see more than 7.5 runs in Arlington tonight, and he has one answer for you. Why yes, yes we will!
MLB Run Total Best Bet July 13th
- Texas Rangers vs. Oakland Athletics: Over 7.5 Runs
Texas Rangers vs Oakland Athletics Best Bet
July 14, 01:05 UK time
Well, I am quite literally sitting here around midnight in New York watching the Rangers and A’s execute another high-scoring affair, as it is 5 – 5 in the 10th inning with 10 runs on the board and they’re not done yet. So, it hit me that I should look into the lines for tomorrow’s game, and there sits a 7.5 on the total which means that I have to decide if this is the best bet of the day? Stop it, do ya think so?!
All right, you know by now that I will play a Texas Rangers total on almost any given night and even more so lately as runs just keep coming home and we just keep cashing tickets as a result. Catching a team when they are playing well offensively is fun when the line setters don’t adjust to things because this total should be 8.5, at least.
Why they are just handing us a free run I have no idea, but luckily we don’t need to question anyone who wants to pay us when it’s 4 – 4 again. I don’t think I can expect anything less than a 4 – 4 game in this park with these two teams right now, and even the A’s are suddenly hitting the ball well enough for me to expect more to come tonight.
Playing Oakland Overs this season is about as scary as a haunted house in October, but it’s not Halloween yet and I don’t have my costume picked out either. Let’s not lose track of the fact that even a 5 – 3 game puts money in our pockets here, so even if Oakland does get stuck on 3 runs it might be hazardous to health.
Paul Blackburn and Jon Gray are the expected starters for this American League tilt and you know what happened the last time we saw big Jonny on the bump, right? The total was 7.5 as he went up against the Twins and Sonny Gray, and 11 runs later we were holding a golden ticket on the total to topple the number.
Gray pitched 5⅓ innings and he did exactly what I told you he would do. A pair of home runs later and there he goes again giving up the long ball which we can expect to see tonight. Jon Gray gives up the long ball as well as anyone and he is on pace to go over 20 homers allowed again this year as he did a year ago. I truly expect him to get lit up for another dinger or two and that bodes well for our total to come in.
Paul Blackburn is a mess on the mound this campaign because he gets jacked up quite a bit too. Over his last 4 starts, Blackburn has been seen giving up 2 home runs from 3 of those outings, and the last time we saw him on the bump he was giving up 2 homers to Houston through only 4 innings of work. Now, we have Blackburn and Gray on the same mound and I have a 7.5 in my face? I mean, thank you!
Did you happen to catch that Corey Seager got a hold of another ball tonight? That’s 5 straight games he has blasted a ball over the outfield wall which made him the 9th player in Rangers history to accomplish the feat.
We’re done here. By the way, the A’s are going bonkers in the 12th inning right now and I am done with my article. So, when you wake up you’ll see the final score and expect more runs to come tonight again. After ending a game in that fashion, everyone will want to get up to the plate and hit a baseball hard and far, so let’s hope they do just that for us.
