MLB Run Total Best Bet: Friday June 24th

MLB Run Total Best Bet: Friday June 24th

The Braves and Dodgers square off for the second time this season, and our resident baseball expert Ej Garr is expecting runs to cross the plate to smash this total of 9. Urias and Anderson are the expected starters for this tilt on Friday night in the ATL, but they have the unenviable job of slowing down two offenses that are both grooving right now.

Atlanta vs LA Dodgers Best Bet

June 25, 00:20 UK time

I mentioned yesterday in my Braves vs. Giants preview that the Giants and Dodgers would be going at it this weekend when, in fact, it was the Braves and Dodgers squaring off. Well, let me say that, I apologize to anyone who saw that error and thought I lost my mind for a minute, although the jury is still in about that!

Seriously though, I missed my suggested tip yesterday too, and that irks me to no end after my 8 – 1 – 1 run. So, let’s get it back tonight with another play on this total in Atlanta as the Dodgers and Braves bats are in form and in position to keep bashing the ball.

Kyle Wright put up another good start last night but now his Overs are 4 – 10 from his 14 starts this year. We just have to move on and put it behind us because Alex Wood was a disaster and I blame him for coming out flat and not taking the Braves seriously for that whole inning he pitched. BUM!

So, we have Julio Urias and Ian Anderson taking the mound tonight as the expected starters and Urias still scares the hell out of me. The dude gives up a home run, or sometimes two, in nearly every outing he appears, but we still see so many unders hitting the board in his starts to the tune of 5 straight.

Urias has given up 5 HR over his last 3 starts but not once did he give up more than 4 earned runs in those affairs. That makes it tough to play his totals but the Braves bats right now are in form and I think they’ll have some moderate success hitting Urias.

The Dodgers bats are hotter than hot, red-hot, white-hot, and any other hot colour you had in mind to name. Los Angeles is leaving Cincinnati and arriving at Hotlanta having scored 26 runs over the last 3 days.

Ian Anderson looked pretty darn good in his last start against the Cubbies, but no one is comparing the Cubs’ offence to the Braves’ offence. Unless, of course, you aren’t paying attention to anything happening on the field this season. It’s the run support that Anderson gets that is impressive to me because the Braves love to hit behind him. Atlanta has scored no less than 4 runs in all but one of his starts this campaign, and they’ve scored 47 runs for him over his last 5 starts

We should get to 5 – 4 before the 7th and that will already have us in position to push the ticket and just wait for one more runner to cross the plate. It will come so get on it!

  • Selection: Over 9 Runs
  • Best odds: 1.82 (Marathonbet)
  • Stakes 4/10
