MLB Best Bet: Wednesday, May 4th
The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds will be playing game 2 of their 3-game set on Wednesday night and our resident baseball expert Ej Garr has a play on the total to dish out for the affair. The Brewers snatched a win in the first game of the series on Tuesday night, and the line setters fell asleep at the wheel on this total for Hump Day!.

I actually missed the decimal point and almost posted the Over 75 runs and I stared at it wondering how off I would be, LoL. All right, there won’t be 75 runs tonight but what the hell are the line setters doing leaving this total set at 7.5 and just about even money for the effort?
As the nightline goes up, Marathonbet is showing 2.00 on the total 7.5 to go over and we are here to make money, right? How often do we see the oddsmakers set a line in the bettors’ favour? Well, that’s what we have here and let’s talk about why we’ll see those 8 runs to cash those tickets.
I am not sure what you’ve heard or what outlet you follow but if someone told you the Reds are good and they might rebound from this terrible start? Stop listening to them because they’re so bad that there’s a story about my friend I need to tell you. So, my buddy had 4 tickets to the Reds Padres game sitting on the dashboard of his car last week. Someone broke his windshield and left him 4 more tickets and a few hundred bucks for the glass… It’s that bad for the Reds in 2022!
So, if you missed last night’s gem of a game, it was 5 – 3 by the end of the 6th inning and these 8 runs we’ll need were found nice and early. Should I continue on with tonight’s expected starting pitchers because oh, baby, do we have more to discuss how the hell the line settlers saw 7.5 as the option to post on this total.
Vladimir Gutierrez is on the bump for the Reds and the adventure behind his season tells a lovely story about how not to get people out in the bigs. Do you know how we usually point out a pitcher’s strikeout to walk ratio and the significance behind the statistic? Well, Gutierrez has walked 15 dudes and knocked out 11 from the box so uh, yeah, let’s not discuss his ratio for the sake of respecting the game!
Hey, maybe he was the expected starter on that April 27th Reds Padres game where he got lit up for 6 earned runs walking 6 players in the outing. Apparently, my friend had 8 good seats for that little diddy! That’s not the best way to come into tonight’s contest and yet the oddsmakers? Oh, did I mention they think 7.5 is the best line to post on this total? Okay good, just so I was sure we were on the same page.
Brandon Woodruff was expected to jump out and have a strong 2022 but that 5.30 ERA says otherwise. Woodruff is 2 – 1 because the Brew-Crew can hit and they support him when he is on the mound. The Brewers broke out for 12 runs in his last start against the Pirates but he is still that .500 pitcher and he will give up a couple of runs tonight at home against the Reds. Cincinnati is freely swinging at anything but they’ll have to put a rally together because Woodruff keeps the ball in the park and doesn’t give up the long ball.
Listen, I don’t waste your time, right? Get to the point, give me my money, wham-bam, thank you for that Ej! Good, play this Over 7.5, and if it slides to 8, so what. We all need 8 anyway, and I expect it might come up, at least juice-wise. Try to get the bet in ASAP so you can lock in the 7.5 at a reasonable price.
