The Boston Red Sox return home to begin a series with the Houston Astros and our resident MLB expert Ej Garr has once again caught the line setters posting a favourable line. Hi! The Red Sox are favourites tonight! Ready, set, UNDERDOG!

Boston vs Houston Best Bet
May 17th, 00:10 (UK time)
The oddsmakers seem to think the Red Sox deserve to be favourites tonight because returning home to Fenway Park is supposedly going to make them so much better‽ Do you like my usage of the interrobang?
Listen, as serious as handicapping sports is, I had a rough week last week around here with my baseball predictions so I need to step up my game too and don’t think I just didn’t care about that. I knew the second I saw this line that I was coming here to post the Astros Moneyline to win this game because I cannot even imagine what is going through the line setters’ minds.
It’s like, are you paying attention to anything happening right now? Houston couldn’t be in more a winning groove than they are right now. Hell, no damn team in baseball is playing as well as the Stros this month. On May 1st, the Astros lost the 2nd game of their 3-game set with Toronto and Houston is now 12 – 1 since that loss. Oh, if you haven’t started fading the hell out of Patrick Corbin again, you should start soon, by the way. Don’t light a match near him because that gas can would make such a boom! (He had a similar start to last season, if you recall, and a job in the bigs might not be his much longer)
Anyway, we all know when #27 returned to the Stros lineup that Altuve’s presence is just so large this season. Even without all the wires attached to his chest sending him the signals he seems to be just such an influence in this lineup making everyone around him better. I find it amazing that when he spent time on the DL earlier that this lineup seemed to just not remember how to hit for a moment. The only struggles we’ve seen out of Houston this entire season to this point to when he was out of the lineup. His 7 bombs and 11 RBI stand on their own but what a year Yordan Alvarez is putting up to this point of the campaign. If you caught the first game of the set with Washington on Friday, Alvarez said boom twice and I do believe that one of those balls hit the White House down in DC.
Now, let’s talk pitching because in case you are not paying attention as the line setters must not be doing, they are SHUTTIN’ THINGS DOWN! I think we all get that the 4-game series with Detroit would prove to give the TIgers long days against Houston pitching but it didn’t stop with Minnesota or Washington either.
The Tigers didn’t score more than 2 runs in any of the 4 games in that series, and the entire pitching staff has thrown 4 shutouts over the last week! THE LAST WEEK!!!
Boston just got their teeth kicked in by the Texas Rangers yesterday and now they have it all figured out with the Astros coming to town? Yeah, no! No, they don’t, so we cash 2.14 tickets with the Astros tonight and there isn’t much to add from here.
Garrett Whitlock and Jake Odorizzi will toe the slab and Whitlock has, at least, held his own with a reasonable ERA of 2.19. However, the Sox have only won one of his starts this season and he might go 3 or 4 innings max as usual. So, that means more Red Sox bullpen coming at you and that is about as intimidating as a tabby cat with her nails removed!
I have zero faith that Boston is all of a sudden going to be the team that makes the Astros look bad and deter this current run of success they’re on. This could end up as one of the best road trips in the history of the Houston franchise if they can finish it at Fenway all Boston Strong if you will.
