It will likely be a bullpen day for the traveling Rockies, as Peter Lambert gets the nod to start this final game of the series in Miami. The Marlins will respond with Edward Cabrera who is coming off his worst start of the season in his last start against Washington.

MIAMI MARLINS VS COLORADO ROCKIES PICKS AND PREDICTION: SAME-GAME PARLAY AT +195
I have spoken about it here this season, and the Rockies are simply one of the worst traveling teams in baseball… Again! If we include the two neutral games the Rockies just played against Houston this past weekend, the Rockies have played 17 games away from home.
Now towing a 7-game road losing streak into Thursday night’s game, the Rockies have only found two wins away from Denver in 2024.
Despite the Wednesday game being a low-scoring affair that the Marlins won, 4 – 1, I don’t see this game playing out so quietly. The Marlins have to get on a plane right after this game to get to Oakland, and then they have an 18:40 PT first pitch on Friday night. Jet lag might be a factor on Friday for the Marlins, but it won’t affect the outcome of this home game.
I don’t see how we cannot continue to fade the Rockies when they are on the road, and I will say that all season long. Even though the true total on this game is listed at 8, if we combine the Marlins ML with the Over 7.5, the price is still worth it to me at +195.
Peter Lambert will give the Rockies 3 innings at best today, as he is still just a reliever making a spot start for Colorado. The only start he has made all year was back on April 21, and the Mariners bounced him off the mound after 3 innings of work. Lambert gave up 6 earned runs, and the Rockies got trounced that day, 10 – 2.
Edward Cabrera has only three starts under his belt this campaign, and his last effort wasn’t impressive. Cabrera gave up 6 runs in an 11 – 4 loss to the Nationals in his recent outing, and he was yanked from the game after only 78 pitches through 4 ⅓ IP.
I have this game marked as a 7 – 3 Marlins win, and I almost wanted to break out the Runline -1.5 Handicap for this combo to boost the odds. When BetMGM here in New York gave me +195 for the Marlins Moneyline along with the Over 7.5 runs on the total, I knew I had my bet to offer today.
Expect the Rockies to lose another road game while their pitching staff and defense continue to let them down.
- Selection: Miami Marlins Moneyline + Over 7.5 Runs
