Panathinaikos Euroleague Winner Odds

After signing Lorenzo Brown this summer, Panathinaikos are tied in 2nd place to defend their Euroleague title at 4.25 odds and an implied probability of 23.53%. They have kept most of their players from last season’s championship squad, resigning Jerian Grant, Marius Grigonis, and head coach Ergin Ataman.

Olympiacos Euroleague Winner Odds

Olympiacos came close to winning their 4th Euroleague title last season, reaching the semi-finals but ultimately losing to Panathinaikos after an exciting and drama-filled series. Their roster has seen some changes as well, but with the added talents of Keenan Evans, Vildoza, and most importantly former Oly player and Euroleague MVP Sasha Vezenkov, this team looks much improved.

Real Madrid Euroleague Winner Odds

2022/23 Euroleague champions Real Madrid are third in line on the 2024/25 winner odds list at 6.00. They have lost a few important players, including Causeur, Rodriguez, Rudy Fernandez, and Vincent Poirier, but have also secured some important signings. Chus Mateu has signed until 2026, and so have Musa (2025), Hezonja (2029), and Llull 2025).  Real have also signed Andres Feliz, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, and re-signed Serge Ibaka. It will be interesting to see how these changes impact their team chemistry this season.

Fenerbahce Euroleague Winner Odds

Boban Marjanovic has decided to leave the NBA after a 9-year stint and return to Euroleague basketball! Fenerbahce’s Euroleague winner betting odds have not changed since this move, but they are still a strong candidate and in the top 5. They have also cut loose Luka Samanic in favor of Khem Birch, who spent last season in Girona playing in the ACB league. Wade Baldwin and Nicolo Melli have also joined Šarūnas Jasikevičius’ ranks with Mahmutoglu also re-signing.

Fenerbahce finished last season 6th in the Euroleague standings, and made it to the semifinals, but ultimately lost to Panathinaikos. Have a look at how they performed in the Moneyline, ATS, and Over/Under market here!

Euroleague MVP Candidates 2024/25: Can Mike James repeat?

Shane Larkin – Leader of Efes’ New Era

Shane Larkin has remained loyal to Anadolu Efes despite significant changes in the club. Although key players like Vasa Micić and long-time coach Ergin Ataman have left the team, Larkin is still the leader. The two-time EuroLeague champion now bears a greater burden, but his ability to create opportunities and make clutch shots remains unquestionable.

His pick-and-roll and transition game are still among the best in the league, but the question remains how he will handle increased pressure now that he is the only remaining superstar on the team? His biggest strength is his ability to take control of a game in crucial moments, but if Efes fails to remain competitive in the playoff race, it could significantly reduce his chances of winning the MVP award.

Larkin’s ability to take control of the game, whether through orchestrating the offense or his incredible shooting range, could put him back in the MVP race. However, Larkin will need to further improve his game and prove that he can carry Efes through tough times when they need an exceptionally skilled playmaker and scorer.

Mike James – Can He Repeat Last Year’s Success?

Last season, Mike James finally won the MVP title after this accolade eluded him for years. His outstanding performances for Monaco turned him into one of the best players in the EuroLeague, and the question now is whether he can repeat that success. James is known for his offensive creativity, with the ability to score from virtually any position on the court.

His ability to create points from isolation plays, as well as to organize the offense through pick-and-roll or drive-and-kick systems, makes him one of the most complete offensive players in Europe. However, James is not known for consistent defense, which could affect his position in this year’s race. His greatest strength lies in his ability to take responsibility when the game is on the line. If Monaco remains at the top of the standings, James could once again be a serious contender for MVP.

The reigning MVP will need to maintain the same level of energy and leadership if he wants to be in this race once again. His role in the Monaco team remains as a leader, and his ability to perform under pressure can once again bring out the best in him.

Markus Howard – Scoring Efficiency as a Synonym

Markus Howard from Baskonia has become synonymous with scoring efficiency. Last season, he averaged 19.4 points per game during the regular season and 18.7 points in the playoff series against Real Madrid, demonstrating his ability to be a consistent offensive threat.

His catch-and-shoot and off-ball movement make him dangerous in every offensive play. Despite his immense scoring potential, the question remains whether he can maintain his level of play throughout the entire season, especially when opponents focus on stopping his primary role in the offense. His ability to perform under pressure and lead Baskonia to the top of the standings is crucial for his MVP ambitions.

This season, he is expected to continue with impressive numbers, but the key to his inclusion in the MVP race will be a more rational approach to shot selection, which could provide Baskonia with a more efficient performance in the standings. If he manages to maintain a high level of efficiency and lead Baskonia to significant wins during the regular season, Howard could become a serious candidate for the MVP award.

Nikola Mirotić – Awakening from the “Winter Sleep”

Nikola Mirotić is one of the most dominant power forwards in Europe, but his move to Armani Milan led to a drop in statistics compared to his time in Barcelona. During his tenure in Barcelona, Mirotić was a key player and an MVP candidate, and now he faces the challenge of returning to that level.

His low-post game and ability to stretch the floor with three-point shooting make him an irreplaceable offensive player. However, moving to Milan led to a decline in statistical output, and Mirotić will need to show adaptability in the new system. If he manages to become a consistent factor again and lead his team to the top, he will certainly be a serious MVP candidate.

What is currently holding him back is a lack of motivation and “hunger” for success. Mirotić will need to find a way to reassert himself as a dominant force in Milan and elevate his level of play. If he succeeds, it will be no surprise to see him among the MVP candidates this season.

Sasha Vezenkov – Return of the Greek King from the NBA Episode

Sasha Vezenkov won the MVP title for the 2022/23 season, and this season he returns to the EuroLeague after a brief stint in the NBA. Olympiacos did everything possible to bring Vezenkov back, offering him the most lucrative contract in the club’s history. His ability to be a leader on the court, especially when the team needs crucial points, is unquestioned. The question remains whether he will be able to maintain consistency throughout the entire season.

If he can adjust to returning from the NBA and maintain his level of play, Vezenkov will be one of the main favorites for the MVP title. His dominance on both ends of the court made him a EuroLeague star two seasons ago, and all eyes will be on him in the upcoming season.

Kendrick Nunn – PAO’s Silent Assassin

Last year, Kendrick Nunn established himself as one of the most dangerous scorers in Europe, playing for Panathinaikos. Nunn is a “silent assassin” who does not attract much attention off the court, but his play speaks volumes on it. He can create opportunities for himself and his teammates from many positions.

His one-on-one game and ability to score in crucial moments make him one of the most dominant guards in Europe. Although his defensive contribution is modest, Nunn’s ability to quietly take over a game through a series of quick points could push him into the MVP race if Panathinaikos remains in the upper part of the standings.

If he manages to elevate his game one more level, it is realistic to expect him in the fight for the MVP award. His explosiveness and scoring ability make him one of the most serious candidates for this recognition.

Walter Tavares – Can the Defensive Master Win the MVP Award?

Walter Tavares has won the EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year title three times, which speaks volumes about his ability on that end of the court. His ability to control the paint, block shots, and dominate defensively makes him invaluable for Real Madrid.

Tavares has shown improved post-play, as well as better ball control and the ability to maximize situations in pick-and-roll actions. If he continues to develop his offensive skills and becomes more dangerous on both ends of the floor, Tavares could transition from being a defensive specialist to being the league’s best overall player.

However, to become a serious MVP candidate, Tavares will need to improve his offensive game. If he can become a threat on both sides of the court, he could become one of the main favorites for this title. His size and impact on the game make him an unavoidable factor in every match.

May the Best Man Win

When we take a closer look at all the candidates, we can see that each of them brings different aspects of the game that could be crucial in the race for the MVP award.

While Shane Larkin and Mike James captivate audiences with their offensive creativity and ability to turn the tide of a game with one move, players like Sasha Vezenkov and Walter Tavares offer stability and continuity on both ends of the court.

Vezenkov, with his versatile game and proven leadership qualities, could be the favorite if he successfully returns from the NBA and once again assumes a key role in Olympiacos. On the other hand, Tavares, although defensively dominant, must improve his offensive output to be fully competitive for this prestigious award.
