Prachnio vs Rodriguez

After producing a flying-knee KO for the ages on DWCS, Mike ‘Slow’ Rodriguez was signed to the UFC. In four fights, he’s amassed a record of 1-2-0-1 NC. His opponent, Marcin Prachnio, is 0-2 in his two UFC bouts, and is also looking to get back in the win column. Both guys really need a big win here, as their stocks are fairly low. It’ll be interesting to see who wants it the most. Let’s have a closer look at the fighters.

Marcin Prachnio

Age: 32 | Height: 6’3” | Weight: 205 lbs

Wins: 10 KOs, 1 SUB, 2 DECs | Losses: 3 KOs, 1 DEC

Pro record: 13-4 | UFC record: 0-2

Marcin Prachnio is fun to watch. He rarely takes a back step and likes to throw down in the center of the cage. This tendency has put him on the receiving end of a few knockouts, but Prachnio always shows up to get a finish, which makes him entertaining to watch.

Mike Rodriguez ‘Slow’

Age: 31 | Height: 6’3” | Weight: 205 lbs

Wins: 8 KOs, 2 SUBs | Losses: 1 KO, 1 SUB, 2 DECs

Pro record: 10-4 | UFC record: 1-2-0-1 NC

Fighting out of Boston, Massachusetts, Mike Rodriguez is primarily a striker. Heavy-handed, and dangerous with every limb, he looks for the finish when he fights, and isn’t afraid to look for it in innovative ways. When he fought on Dana White’s Contender Series, he blew the roof off the building with a flying-knee KO, that had White cheering. His flashy KO’s remain to be seen in the UFC, but he has only had four fights, so perhaps we’re in for another highlight knockout when he faces Marcin Prachnio this Saturday.

Prachnio vs Rodriguez Fight Predictions

Striker vs. striker. The best matchup you could ever want! Straight off the bat I’m predicting a finish in this fight, but who will get his hand raised? Rodriguez’ KO on DWCS is still embedded in my memory, but he hasn’t really put out great performances in the UFC. However, the same can be said for Marcin Prachnio, who has failed to capture a win in two bouts. Rodriguez did manage to get a TKO win against Adam Milstead, so I think he has proven that he can perform on the big stage. Prachnio is a good fighter, but I don’t like his lacking striking defense. One or two openings are all Rodriguez needs, and I see him capitalizing on Marcin’s mistakes this weekend.

Prediction: Mike Rodriguez def. Marcin Prachnio via first-round KO.
