Following the third UFC performance of Herbert Burns, Felice Herrig returns from a two-year hiatus to face Virna Jandiroba. ‘Carcara’ is making her third walk for the promotion against Herrig. Jandiroba has been more active in recent years, fighting twice in 2019, 2018, and 2017. Felice, on the other hand, hasn’t competed since losing to Michelle Waterson in 2018. Herrig steps foot in the octagon for the first time in 671 days this Saturday. I think it’s same to assume that she will be affected by a little bit of ring-rust.

Felice Herrig vs Virna Jandiroba Fight Predictions
While Herrig has more experience on the big stage, Jandiroba has an overall better record and has been more active as of late. Herrig has been out of the cage for two years and is on a two-fight skid. Meanwhile, Jandiroba suffered her first professional defeat at the hands of former champion Carla Esparza, and bounced back last December with a second-round submission win over 26-year old prospect Mallory Martin (6-3 as a pro, 0-1 in the UFC).

Jandiroba’s fierce grappling could also spell trouble for Herrig, who might have to adjust to the pace of a fight in the opening minutes. It worries me that Herrig hasn’t gotten a finish in four years and that she is 3-4 in decision fights in the UFC. A loss to Paige VanZant also doesn’t add value to your stock in my book, and mixed with the fact that Virna is younger and fresher, I like her to win this strawweight bout.
