Matthew O’Regan has his Wolves vs Tottenham prediction preview. Wolves rescued a late draw when the sides met in December.

Wolves vs Tottenham Prediction

England, Premier League, Sunday, April 13th, 14:00 (UK)

Gary O’Neil was dismissed as Wolves manager in December. Two wins from 16 saw them five points adrift in the relegation zone. The appointment of Vitor Pereira was met with much skepticism given his less than convincing record at previous clubs prior. However, the Portuguese gaffer has transformed his side and steer them well clear of relegation.

The Old Gold defeated Ipswich 1-2 thanks to late goals from Pablo Sarabia and Jørgen Strand Larsen- a victory that puts them 12 points clear of the Tractor Boys with seven games to go, with safety all but confirmed. The win was the third on the bounce, making it four Premier League games unbeaten. While Wolves have been poor at home this season, they look a transformed side in recent weeks.

Tottenham are set for their first bottom half finish since 2007 under Junade Ramos as they currently linger 14th in the Premier League. A victory on Sunday would see Wolves move within two points of Spurs. Away from home, Postecoglu’s side have the fifth worst record, with only Everton and the current bottom three taking fewer points on the travels. They have lost also lost their last three away games without scoring, losing to AZ Alkmaar (1-0), Fulham (2-0) and Chelsea (1-0).

While Tottenham have nothing to play for in the league, the Europa League is still up for grabs, representing the chance to win their first major trophy since the 2007/2008 season – conveniently the last time they finished in the bottom half of the Premier League. Ange Postecoglu went on record by saying he always wins something in his second season, so is under immense pressure to deliver.

Thursday the 10th of April sees third place Bundesliga side Frankfurt visit North London in the Europa League quarter final, with the return leg the following week. All Tottenham thoughts will be on this game, so Wolves will fancy their chances of turning up and getting a result to continue their rich vein of form.

Wolves vs Tottenham Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups Prediction: Cunha or No Cunha?

The debate on every Wolves’ fans lips is whether or not Matheus Cunha should come back into the side after serving a four match ban after his straight red against Bournemouth. The Brazilian has stated his desire to leave and Wolves have fared better without him, but he is one of the best attacking players in the league so Pereira has a tough decision on his hands.

In terms of injuries, Enzo Gonzalez, Sasa Kalajdzic and Yerson Mosquera are out.

Tottenham have been decimated with injuries this season but are slowly getting players back. The only absentees for this game will be Dejan Kulusevski, Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin. Postecoglu may rest a few players who have just come back from injury.

Wolves possible starting lineup:
Sa; Semedo; Gomes, Agbadou, Doherty, Ait-Nouri; Andre, Gomes; Munetsi, Bellegarde; Larsen

Tottenham possible starting lineup:
Vicario; Porro, Davies, Romero, Gray; Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison; Johnson, Tel, Odobert
