Valencia vs Valladolid Prediction - La Liga Fixtures
With several La Liga clubs fighting for survival, our expert Nathan Joyes has provided his Valencia vs Valladolid Best Bet, team news, lineups and fixtures preview.
The hosts head into this encounter in the bottom three on goal difference. Having failed to win any of their last three matches, Carlos Corberan will be desperate to get back on track against a team propping up the table.
Valladolid finally ended their six-match winless streak with a point at home against Las Palmas, but it’s now almost four months since they last tasted victory. Eight points below their latest opponents, relegation looms large for a side that haven’t won on the road this campaign.
Valencia vs Valladolid Prediction: In-form forward to fire home
Spain, La Liga, Saturday, March 8th, 17:30 (UK)
Valencia’s lack of consistency and inability to put a run together could cost them dearly come the end of the season. A win is constantly followed up with a defeat, which is why they haven’t been able to claw themselves out of the bottom three as of yet.
But they are within touching distance of safety. Las Palmas, Espanyol, Leganes and Getafe – to an extent – can all be sucked back in, which is the motivation Corberan’s team need to utilise to start climbing up the table.
At home is where Valencia are doing their best work. Out of the 24 points they’ve accumulated, 18 have been won in front of their own supporters. In fact, they’ve won three of their last five at the Mestalla.
For the past 18 months, Valencia have been heavily reliant on Hugo Duro’s output. Many were surprised to see him stick around after scoring 13 La Liga goals last campaign, and he’s their top goalscorer once more with seven from 22 matches.
However, the 25-year-old will be watching from the sidelines for the second week in a row, having missed the trip to Osasuna with a foot injury. The good news is they have a forward showing potential – and more importantly, scoring goals.
Umar Sadiq has been brought in on loan from Real Sociedad and has scored three goals in his first six matches – including a brace against Osasuna in their 3-3 draw last week. That was only his third start for his new club, who led the line superbly to rescue a crucial point in the final minutes.
Corberan’s decision to start him against Valladolid is a no-brainer, and the 28-year-old has every chance of adding to his tally against the worst team in the league.
Having conceded 60 goals in just 26 matches, 40 of those have been on their travels. With just three points to their name from a possible 39, there’s no surprise to see Valencia as short as 1.30 to win the match.
However, instead of getting dragged into the Asian Handicap line, the bookmakers have missed that Duro is rather unlikely going to start, which will allow Sadiq another 90 minutes – at home – to score in consecutive weeks.

Valencia vs Valladolid Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups
As mentioned, Valencia’s biggest loss for the fixture will be Hugo Duro. However, at home is where they’ve clicked the most, and facing a team that hasn’t won away since November 2023, Sadiq’s presence doesn’t impact the starting XI negatively in the slightest.
What next for Valladolid? Any changes they appear to make fails to improve them as a unit, who are likely to be preparing for their relegation. They do, however, welcome back Stanko Juric after his suspension has come to an end.
Having picked up seven La Liga yellows in just 21 matches, the Croatian could be the ideal card bet for those looking at another angle within the match.
Valencia possible starting lineup:
Mamardashvili; Gaya, Mosquera, Tarrega, Foulquier, Barrenechea, Guerra, Lopez, Jaime, Rioja, Sadiq
Valladolid possible starting lineup:
Hein; Aznou, Comert, Sanchez, Candela, Nikitscher, Grillitsch, Moro, Amallah, Anuar, Andre
