Group C Euro 2024: Schedule, Predictions and Preview
Group C Euro 2024 features one of the best teams in the world and one projected to go all the way and win – England. However, the Three Lions have been known to break down when it mattered the most in the past. They had a chance to lift the 2020 Euro trophy at Wembley but failed to produce in the final against Italy.
They will start their campaign in Grup C, against Denmark, Serbia, and Slovenia. It sounds like an easy group for Gareth Southgate and his men, but literally, anything can happen in a tournament-style format competition.
Group C Schedule and Favourite
The favourites to advance from Group C are certainly England and Denmark. Serbia are back at the Euros after a 24-year absence, but they are known to underperform in big tournaments such as this one. Finally, Slovenia is the biggest unknown here, but one which may pose some trouble to favoured teams if they don’t take them as seriously as needed.

Group C Teams and Analysis
Making Group C predictions seem a lot clearer compared to other groups. England is the biggest threat to all the rest of the teams in the group. They may not be able to stroll so easily through it, but most eyes will be looking at them the very second the tournament starts. Denmark is right behind them, with both Serbia and Slovenia looking for their chances from the back.
Slovenia
Slovenia is already one of the biggest surprises of the tournament by simply being here. They appeared only once, back in 2000 when they also faced Yugoslavia (now called Serbia). Back then they posed some problems for the favoured teams and while they don’t expect to achieve a major result, the least they can do is to repeat the same result as 24 years ago.
Interestingly, Slovenia will be playing alongside Denmark after finishing behind them in the qualifying group. They did give the Danes a run for their money and even played 1:1 in Ljubljana. RB Leipzig’s star forward, Benjamin Sesko, is also Slovenia’s best scorer. Even though he is still only 20 years old, he is expected to shine at this tournament.
Denmark
Denmark is already a staple at major tournaments and will be playing here for the 7th time in their history, after making it all the way to the semi-finals in the 2020 competition. However, even though they topped Group H in the qualifiers, they haven’t been as dominant as before. They finished with the same number of points as Slovenia but had an advantage over them thanks to a 2:1 win in Copenhagen.
Nevertheless, the Danish Dynamite is expected to explode once again. They are contending for one of the first two qualifying spots in Group C and may even go deep into the competition once again. They now have a star striker in Rasmus Højlund, who scored seven goals during the qualifiers. All the veterans are still here as Simon Kjær, Kasper Schmeichel, and Andreas Christensen will be leading the Danes.
Serbia
It took Serbia 24 years to qualify for their 6th Euros. Unfortunately for them, they had much more success as Yugoslavia than Serbia. While they had a fairly easy qualification group to contest with, they had a lot of trouble traversing it. In the end, they finished second behind Hungary but lost both games against the Magyars.
The Eagles have a fairly strong team on paper. With Aleksandar Mitrovic, Dusan Vlahovic, and Dusan Tadic in the attack goals are guaranteed. However, where Dragan Stojkovic’s team struggles the most is defence. Injuries to some back-line players and their failure to find the right back-three combination might deter them in their effort to make it out of the group.
England
After reaching the 2020 Euro final and the 2022 World Cup quarter-final, England is ready to finally go all the way. However, that is the premise every time the Three Lions prepare for a big tournament. Some say that the result is going to be as disappointing as always, while others agree that it is finally their time to shine. No matter what, whoever Gareth Southgate decides to bring, they will be contending for the top of Group C.
England has a star-studded cast in their ranks. The team is captained by Harry Kane who scored 30+ goals this season playing for Bayern Munich. Help is expected from Phill Foden and Bukayo Saka in the attack. But most fans will be looking at Jude Bellingham, who has had an absolutely amazing season at Real and threatens to continue his lethal form at the Euros.
Group C Predictions and Odds
Looking at it at the moment, England should top the group, followed by Denmark in second place. Serbia should rank third, with Slovenia as the last team in the group. When it comes to betting, you can easily make a bet on the Three Lions to qualify as the premier team in the group.
The English may have a bit of problems starting the tournament. But a win against Serbia by 2+ goals is a given. At the same time, there is a high probability that the Eagles will crash and burn against the Danes in an Over 3.5 gaols affair. Finally, if you are brave enough, you can bet on a draw between Denmark and England, 1:1 as the correct result.
