Juventus vs Genoa Prediction - Serie A Fixtures
Our Italian football expert Daniele Fisichella has previewed Juventus vs Genoa the first game for Igor Tudor on the hosts’ bench.
After suffering heavy defeats to Atalanta and Fiorentina, the Bianconeri endured a turbulent week which culminated in the dismissal of Thiago Motta.
Croatian coach Tudor takes the helm, tasked with reaching fourth place in Serie A, Juve’s primary target this campaign.
Juventus vs Genoa Prediction: Back To Basics for the OId Lady
Italy, Serie A, Saturday, March 29th, 17:00 (UK)
What can be expected from Tudor’s debut? Certainly, the former Marseille and Lazio manager will aim to rebuild defensive solidity after conceding seven goals in their last two outings.
Additionally, a more motivated and offensive approach is anticipated. The formation remains a question—will it be 3-4-2-1 or 3-4-1-2? Tudor has always been an admirer of Dusan Vlahovic and may start him either alongside Kolo Muani. Behind the forwards, Koopmeiners could feature alone or in tandem with Yildiz, depending on the setup.
The Croatian manager successfully navigated a similar situation at Lazio last season, stepping in for Maurizio Sarri with nine Serie A matches remaining. Tudor’s first game saw a narrow 1-0 victory over Juventus, leading Lazio to collect 18 points, averaging two points per match, and securing seventh place and a Europa League spot.

Under Tudor, Lazio were impressive in the form table, sitting second alongside eventual champions Inter, with only Atalanta earning more points (22) during his tenure. If Tudor can replicate this performance with Juventus, our projections indicate the Bianconeri could finish the season with 70 points.
Virtually safe Genoa are tough to crack
On the other hand, Genoa, after hiring Patrick Vieira back in November, have found both stability and results.
Currently in safe territory concerning relegation, Il Grifone has proved to be an organized and resilient side, only losing three matches since the end of October, only one of which (3-1 vs Rome) by more than a goal margin.
According to BETSiE, a match with fewer than three total goals and possibly only one team scoring seems more likely than a game where both sides find the back of the net in an Over 2.5 scenario.

Juventus vs Genoa Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups Prediction: A change of system and personnel
The new manager might start with a back three, and, despite some limitations in building play, Gatti is the main candidate to anchor the defence centrally, with Pierre Kalulu on his right and Renato Veiga on his left.
No injuries have been reported for Kelly and Cambiaso, although the Italian’s condition remains under evaluation, as does Douglas Luiz’s. Yildiz should play in the number 10 role, supporting Kolo Muani and, possibly, Dusan Vlahovic, who scored with Serbia during the international break.

Meanwhile, Vieira will need to cope without the suspended Martin, with Matturro ready to step in. There is hope for the return of Thorsby and Ekuban, but former Juventus midfielder Miretti remains doubtful due to a knee injury.
Juventus possible starting lineup:
Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Veiga; Weah, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Yildiz, Koopmeiners; Kolo Muani.
Genoa possible starting lineup:
Leali; Sabelli, De Winter, Vasquez, Matturro; Masini, Frendrup; Zanoli, Malinovskyi, Miretti; Pinamonti.
Match Stats: Historically a tough trip for Il Grifone
- The last four encounters have been evenly split: one win each and two draws.
- Previously Juventus won five games in a row, starting from a 2-1 win in October 2019 and ending with a 2-0 triumph in December 2021.
- Genoa have not beaten Juventus in Turin since January 1991 (1-0 goal from Tomas Skuhravy).
- In the last 10 games Genoa have failed to score just once (1-0 defeat in Milan against Inter).
- Juventus has lost just one Serie A home match this season (4-0 vs Atalanta) but have only scored 24 times at the ‘Juventus Stadium’, that’s the seventh best home record in the league.
