Bolivia vs Panama Prediction 1: Minnows to qualify
USA, Copa America, Tuesday, July 2nd, 02:00 (UK)
After Panama’s dramatic 2-1 victory over the US, their qualification dream is back on. As a result, their price has shortened dramatically from 5/4 to 8/13 to beat Bolivia in the early hours of Tuesday.
I can feel pretty smug about tipping Uruguay to top Group C in my Copa America antepost column purely based on the US being incredibly short – just because they were the hosts.
Let’s not forget, Panama beat USA on penalties in the Gold Cup semi-finals in 2023, as well as having a goal ruled out. They were put in the same bracket as Bolivia, but that was completely unjust.
Bolivia were hammered 5-0 vs Uruguay, who look strong and have the potential to win the tournament. Panama, however, only lost 3-1 and kept the scoreline to just 1-0 until the 85th minute.
Panama’s incentive to win and qualify is there, and this is one of the worst Bolivian teams in recent years. The price has been smashed in, but adding over 1.5 goals creates a good looking evens bet.
- Bolivia vs Panama Prediction 1: Panama to win and over 1.5 goals
- Best Odds: 2.0
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Bolivia vs Panama Prediction 2: No goals for Bolivians
Bolivia has been extremely poor in the Copa America, but without being funny, I could have told you that months ago. This team lacks direction, discipline and above all, goals.
With one goal in their last five matches, which came from their 20-year-old prospect Miguelto in the dying minutes against Ecuador, they haven’t shown anything to suggest that is going to change.
Many thought Bolivia vs Panama would be a straight shootout to see who would finish bottom, but Panama now have the opportunity to qualify – so expect a very well measured performance in order to achieve exactly that.
Only two of the last five matches between these two sides have finished with one team scoring, but Bolivia have declined massively – and that needs to be considered.
- Bolivia vs Panama Prediction 2: Both teams to score no
- Best Odds: 1.70
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 5/10
Bolivia vs Panama Prediction 3: Super sub to the rescue
Panama’s match winner came off the bench to score their late winner against the US. His first time finish inside the box gave Matt Turner no chance.
The former DC United striker, now with Universidad Catolica on loan, has been in and amongst the goals in Ecuador – which gives his manager something to think about.
Zorya’s Eduardo Guerrero led the line vs the US but didn’t show much in the first 45 and was pulled for Fajardo. After his goal and impressive performance, perhaps he’ll return to the starting line up in their crucial clash vs Bolivia. Panama needs goals, and this isn’t a time to leave out goalscorers.
Bolivia have now shipped in seven goals in their two matches, and with nothing to play for, we may see a few rotations. An unsettled side will struggle, and Fajardo can be the hero once more.
- Bolivia vs Panama Prediction 3: Jose Fajardo to score anytime
- Best Odds: 3.0
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 5/10
