Neither team has exactly caught the world alight in this Champions League group stage yet. PSG have four points on the board and have been involved in three low scoring contests with all of their fixtures going under 2.5 goals. Les Parisians are perhaps better than their results suggest though and have been wasteful in front of goal. They average the third most shots per game of any team, whilst only Monaco & Atalanta have conceded fewer. PSG’s xGA in the Champions League is an impressive 1.26, the joint best with Man City and they have controlled games well.
Atletico just got beat 1-3 at home to Lille and now they play an even better French team, which doesn’t bode well. They were worryingly beaten 4-0 by Benfica in their only away UCL match to date which is another massive negative for them. PSG should ultimately have too much for their Spanish counterparts so taking them straight on the nose just to win has some appeal. This could be a lower scoring game so the PSG win to nil or win and under 3.5 goals could have some appeal for those who want to juice up the bet even more.

PSG vs Atletico Madrid Prediction 2: PSG territorial dominance should lead to high corner count
PSG have absolutely dominated their opponents with the corner count in all of their Champions League matches so far this season. It makes sense to get with them on the Asian corner line -2 which gives us a full push if they only beat Atletico by exactly two corners. They ousted Girona and Arsenal 5-1 on the corner count, and then 14-3 vs PSV in their most recent UCL fixture. In total they’ve outed their opponents 24-5 on corners which shows incredible territorial dominance. Atletico only racked up two corners in their one away -game so far at Benfica, which they lost 0-4. They are not known for being a high corner team so the Parisians should logically dominate in this department. Ten teams average more corners per game in La Liga than Atletico so they are unlikely to threaten the flag kicks too much.

PSG vs Atletico Madrid Prediction 3: Dembele to keep firing wildly in Europe
Ousmane Dembele is not a player you would ever hang your hat on to score, or even hit the target. He is a streaky player, capable of occasional brilliance but more often than not his composure lets him down. Dembele has been a shot machine this season though, especially in Europe averaging a ridiculous seven shots per game! In Ligue 1 he still has a very high average of 3.30 shots per game this season, the most of any PSG player.
In a match where PSG should dominate, he might get regularly frustrated and try something from distance which looks special if it goes in. For some reason on the Champions League stage he’s more willing to take shots, possibly to catch the eye in front of the cameras. Just 3 of his 14 attempts in the UCL this season have been on target, so taking over 3.5 total shots looks the best angle with him, at an odds-against price.

PSG vs Atletico Madrid Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups: Teaser
PSG still have the trio of Lucas Hernandez, Presenel Kimpembe and Goncalo Ramos out injured long term. They have no new concerns so it will be the coach’s choice whether the likes of Lee Kang-In, Zaire-Emery or Joao Neves can get into the starting XI.
Atletico Madrid have issues defensively with Azpilicueta and Robin Le Normand unlikely to feature. They could line up in a 4-4-2 system or revert back to the 3-4-2-1 which didn’t serve them very well away to Benfica.
