(HT 36-46)

Finishing seventh and eighth, respectively, in the EuroLeague standings, Real Madrid and Paris meet in the Spanish capital on Tuesday night with a playoff berth at stake. The winner of this game will face Fenerbahce in the first round of the postseason, while the loser gets another bite at the apple with a winner-takes-all game against the winner of Bayern vs. Red Star.

Real Madrid are 7.5-point favourites for this game at bet365.

With the play-in games kicking off the EuroLeague playoffs, our pages are stacked with basketball betting tips. Expert Sam Cox will have his best bets throughout the regular season.

Real Madrid vs Paris Prediction and Picks: Trust Road Dogs

  • Selection: Paris +7.5
  • Best Odds: 1.91
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 5/10

Paris pushed Real all the way earlier this month, just as they did with Panathinaikos. They also got a win away to Fenerbahce. While we think Real will win this game and book their playoff spot, it’s not going to be a blowout. The size of this spread seems a bit harsh on a Paris team which has excelled even the loftiest of expectations in its debut EuroLeague campaign.

Narrowly beating out Bayern for eighth on head-to-head record, Paris also have the luxury of playing with relatively little pressure. No one is expecting them to win on Tuesday night, and they have the insurance policy of a second play-in game if they do lose.

Real Madrid News, Injury Report, Schedule: Strong Finish to Regular Season

Real Madrid surged at the end of the regular season with six straight wins. Tied with Barcelona and Anadolu Efes, two losses to the latter are all that stopped Real from finishing in the top six and avoiding the jeopardy of the play-in showdown.

Gabriel Deck is healthy, Walter Tavares has regained his best form, and Bruno Fernando has proven a smart acquisition. This Real Madrid team has been performing at an elite level for several months and represents a scary opponent in the playoffs whether they take the seventh or eighth seed.

Paris News, Injury Report, Schedule: Historic Campaign

Sporting an above-average offence and a solid enough defence, Paris have been the surprise package of this EuroLeague season. T.J. Shorts probably won’t win MVP, but he’s unquestionably been one of the best players in Europe this term.

While they have suffered a couple of narrow losses along the way, the Parisians have finished the season strongly. They won their final three games across all competitions and have avoided the kind of domestic slip-ups that can undermine a playoff push.

Whatever the outcome on Tuesday, Tiago Splitter should be very proud of his team’s first year in the EuroLeague.

Real Madrid vs Paris H2H: 2-0 Madrid

Real Madrid beat Paris by a single point at Movistar Arena earlier this month. The Spanish team also won by 11 points when the teams met in Paris just before Christmas. These are the only two times the sides have faced off.
