Neither side can be happy with the way the current Premier League season is going: Everton are back in the fight for survival, while Tottenham have dropped to unusually low positions by the halfway point. The Toffees have even decided to resort to a change of coach – David Moyes has returned to Goodison Park. However, the Everton boss was unable to immediately shake up the team – they played well in defense, but were almost toothless in attack and eventually lost.
Tottenham are a mirror image of Everton: the Londoners have no problems in creating, but they rarely play reliably in front of their goal. The second goal tally in the Premier League is indicative. And, unlike the former Toffees head coach Sean Dyche, there are no clouds hanging over Angelos Postecoglou – the management has announced their confidence in the Australian specialist.
Tottenham have not lost at Goodison Park for over 12 years, and thrashed Everton 4-0 in the first round. The visitors look the better side in this encounter, so we expect them to win.
